What is Sexual Harassment?
Sexual harassment is a form of abuse in which the offender makes sexual advances or comments to another person that makes them feel uncomfortable and is completely inappropriate. This is commonly seen in the adult world in a work environment. However, this is also common amongst kids and teenagers in school. It is important to recognize that behaviors that constitute sexual harassment are predatory behaviors in offenders. These could be indicators or “early warning signs” that this person does not respect those types of boundaries and is likely to engage in sexually assaultive behavior if the opportunity presents itself to the offender. These behaviors should not be tolerated at any time and should be immediately reported and addressed with the proper authorities.
